Minecraft has various Mods and OptiFine is one of the famous Mods.
OptiFine provides HD Texture and optimised performance during the game play.
Installation is not that difficult as long as you follow below steps.
0. Choose your Minecraft version for OptiFine to be installed
This is important step as you need to play the game at least once with the version you want to play.
For example, if you want to install 1.12.2, then you need to first create a profile with the version in Minecraft Launcher.
Then, you can proceed with the below steps.
1. Download and Install JAVA Runtime Environment (JRE)
When you download OptiFine from the official site, you can see that it has 'jar' extension.
In order to execute 'jar' file, you need to install JRE first.
If you don't have it, go to the above link and install JRE.
2. Download OptiFine
You can download OptiFine from the above link.
Please note that you need to download the version you want to play on.
3. Install OptiFine
Once you have downloaded 'jar' file, you can just double click the file to execute the file.
It will pop up OptiFine Installer window as below.
You can check the installation with the profile dropdown as below.
4. Download Shader
I will be installing BSL Shader as an example, but you can download any other Shaders you want to install.
Download Shader from above link, or you can find other Shaders from CurseForge as well.
5. Install Shader
Easiest way to install the Shader is from the game option.
Launch Minecraft with OptiFine installed profile.
Locate 'Options' -> 'Video Settings' -> 'Shaders'
Then click 'Shaders Folder' to open the folder that we are putting shader zip file into.
Put the downloaded zip file into the folder.
Then you can see the BSL Shader is appearing in the game.
Click BSL zip file to apply the changes.
If all good, you can see the beautiful BSL shader has been applied to your Minecraft!
